4 Keys To More Effective Prayer!

Hey, welcome to Every Prayer Matters Blog. My name is Justice Rodriguez and I help mommas like you find how to find power in your prayer as you navigate through your life as a wife and mother.

In today’s blog, we will discover the 4 Keys To More Effective Prayer!

This blog aims to help you see how your prayers set the tone for every area of your life.

Within this blog, there are affiliate links and such because I use them and believe they can help you make your mommy life more fun and well… help your self-care. Please note that this blog is about my personal story and adventure. I’m not a doctor or a professional to give you medical advice. I’m simply a wife, a mommy of 2, and a developing business owner sold out for Jesus who wants to encourage you in your prayer life because I believe Every Prayer Matters To God!

Talking to God is a critical part of our relationship with God and learning to have effective prayers are just as important!

Here we are going to talk about 4 key things that I personally implement in my prayer time with the Lord. I did not create this method on my own and am not sure who did but my prayer is that that encourages you and bless as much as they have blessed me.

The 4 keys are :

Praise

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭100:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Giving the Lord our praises is to give him the glory he deserves and helps us remember the goodness of the Lord. You can tell him how grateful you are for all That he has done and all that is doing in your life.

In a world where everyone is so focused on themselves as believers, it’s so important to fix our focus on the Lord.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Repent

“Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:22‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Once you are baptized you are forgiven COMPLETELY of your sins by the Lord but that doesn’t mean you will never sin again, We are all human and it is up to turn always from sins and to take off the old self and put on the new self ( Ephesians 4).

You are going to need to have a heart of repentance. Repenting of anything that you’ve done and choosing to not walk in that way any longer.

Repent simply means to change. Change your mindset, change your attitude towards certain things, Change how you do life!

Being open and honest in your prayer time with the Lord and taking your hands off the wheel and allowing him to be your guide.

Ask

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:24‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Asking God for the desires of our hearts is not an issue for us or maybe you have no clue where to even start  Or maybe you’re like me and your still waiting for any answer and all of these different places are fine but one key thing you in your asking is faith!

So many of us have dealt with rejection or probably suffering from this common issue of impatience. But I want to encourage you in your waiting that God heard you and he is your going to over-deliver!

Another to remember is :

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4:3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Now ask yourself… self is what I have asked for in God’s will for my life?

God is not a  Genie! So when we take our requests to him we need to make sure they are in line with what He wants for our lives.

Yield

When we come to the Lord we must yield to our will to His. I love this passage in John 7 ( encourage you to read the full chapter for yourself )

“The Jews, therefore, marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning when he has never studied?” So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him, there is no falsehood. Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?”

‭‭John‬ ‭7:15-19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

When we come to God with our agenda, unfruitful and having our minds already made up it’s hard to really but able to say that you are not leaning on your understanding so when you and I come to the father we need to be willing to let go and come to full submission.

“For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:7-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬
