Hey, welcome to The Young Faithful Mama Blog. My name is Justice Rodriguez and helping young mamas like you stop feeling unqualified, overwhelmed, and chaotic so you can start raising your babies with more peace and joy. By sharing some of my experiences and things that I learned through my journey so you can become a Young Faithful Mama too as you navigate through your life as a wife and mother.
The aim of this week’s blog is to share some helpful tips on being a stay at home mama
Being a stay-at-home mama is a rewarding yet challenging role. For Christian mothers navigating the responsibilities of homemaking and nurturing their family, faith becomes a cornerstone in managing daily tasks.
I will be super transparent about my introduction to motherhood . i made always loved the idea of one day becoming a mother but becoming a stay at home mama wasnt exactly what i planne for . i loved working and being able to feel like i had certain things under control . after having a childhood of being sheltered i couldnt imagine giving up that freedom .
When me and my husband prayed for a child as i think back to that night i remember my exact words “and we will dedicate our child to you and our lives to christ . i didnt understand what i was praying but now it makes more sense everyday .
When i had to leave work at 5 weeks pregant i didnt know what was going to happen i just knew that i prayed for this child and that my baby was my new main priority , my biggest respoinsblity .
And every year i was faced with the question “ are you going back to work?’’ and every year i was ready but it wasnt God’s will . i prayed and plead with the Lord but his answer was always not yet .
He was working on me , growing my character , my patience , teaching me how to be a Godly woman .
The only thing i want you to really take away from me sharing my experience is that i wasnt prepared but God prepared me for his glory . that when i hear another stay at home mama share her frustrations i have no judgement or disapproval . i can understand her current situation and sympathes with her and give her words to encourage her that God knews exactly where He put her and that she is not forgotten .
Here are 10 helpful tips to guide Christian stay-at-home mamas in creating a nurturing and spiritually rich environment for their families.
1. Establish a Daily Devotional Routine:
Start each day with a moment of prayer and devotion. Setting aside time for personal reflection and spiritual growth allows you to ground yourself in faith before tackling the day’s responsibilities.

2. Incorporate Faith into Daily Activities:
Infuse faith into daily tasks, such as mealtime prayers, bedtime stories with biblical lessons, and involving your children in age-appropriate discussions about faith. This creates a consistent environment where faith is integrated into daily life.
We like to have watch Christian cartoons together , talk about Jesus and God often and we do memory verses with our older boys . since my children are smaller music has been a great way to get them to learn about Jesus and how we praise the Lord . talk more about this in #4 .
3. Create a Supportive Community
Connect with other Christian moms in your community or online. Sharing experiences, offering support, and engaging in prayer groups can help you navigate the challenges of motherhood while staying true to your Christian values.
If you have a local church or your church home . see if they have a womans group or mom group that you can become apart of its so refreshing to surround yourself with women of faith and women that are in a similar season as you . shows you that your not alone .
4. Prioritize Family Worship Time:
Designate specific times for family worship or prayer, encouraging a collective sense of faith within your household. Whether it’s a weekly family devotional or a special prayer time before bedtime, these moments strengthen family bonds and faith connections.
As long as your getting together and putting God at the Center . thats what matters
5. Practice Patience and Grace:
Being a stay-at-home mom often involves juggling numerous responsibilities. Practice patience with yourself and your family. Remember that God’s grace is abundant, and each day is an opportunity for growth and learning.
6. Set Realistic Expectations:
Acknowledge that perfection is unattainable, and it’s okay to ask for help when needed. Setting realistic expectations for yourself and your family allows you to enjoy the journey without unnecessary stress.
Once i came to my senses that i was putting so much extra press on my myself and family i could finally understand that less was more . if my 5 year old cant quote scripture perfectly thats fine but i should pay attention to the fact that He is learning that the bible is a book for his life and to share it with him as much as he is interested .
7. Embrace a Rhythm for Your Day:
Establishing a daily rhythm provides structure and balance. Incorporate time for chores, play, rest, and spiritual activities. A well-organized day fosters an environment where faith and daily tasks harmoniously coexist.
8. Nurture Self-Care:
Taking care of your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being is crucial. Find time for personal prayer, reflection, and activities that bring you joy. A well-nurtured mama can better support her family and uphold Christian values.
This was hard for me but over the last few months has been such a blessing .
9. Teach by Example:
Modeling Christian values through your actions speaks louder than words. Demonstrate kindness, patience, and love in your interactions with family members, showing them the transformative power of living out one’s faith.
”Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.“
I Corinthians 11:1 NKJV
10. Celebrate Milestones and Victories:
Recognize and celebrate the milestones, big or small, in your family’s spiritual journey. Whether it’s a child’s first prayer or overcoming a challenge together, acknowledging these moments reinforces the importance of faith in your family’s life.
Being a Christian stay-at-home mama involves weaving faith into the fabric of everyday life. By establishing routines, connecting with a supportive community, and prioritizing both self-care and family worship, you can create a nurturing environment that reflects your Christian values. Remember, each day is an opportunity to grow in faith and love as you embrace the beautiful journey of motherhood.
